Meet Our Vineyard Family
Flore Engels
Flore is the lady of the house. By profession, Flore is a children’s nephrologist, a medical doctor who specializes in kidney care for children. But her passion is taking loving care of the vineyard, spending many hours pruning and training vines and harvesting grapes. Flore is also the perfect winery host and quite the chef, preparing her wonderful dishes that pair very well with our EBURON estate wines.
Marco Tiggelman
After a career in marketing sweets, cheeses and other consumer products internationally, Marco decided to follow his passion and start his own VINIUM wine agency in The Netherlands in 2003. After consulting international wineries (mainly from Australia and Eastern Europe) with their exports for many years, he started producing wines in various countries under his BUCKET label.
Two things changed his life. In 2019 Marco reconnected with Paul, whom he had worked with on wine projects some 15 years prior. Paul was looking for someone to join the California Wine Institute European office in The Hague and Marco was the perfect person. More importantly, in 2021, Marco also reconnected with his high school sweetheart Flore and together they started a vineyard in Tongeren, which is now the EBURON estate vineyard. After courses at the famous UC Davis in California, Marco is now both vineyard manager and winemaker at EBURON estate.
Paul Molleman
Paul worked in the California wine industry for several years in the early 90s and in 1994, he returned home to set up the European office of the California Wine Institute in The Hague, The Netherlands. After 30 years of promoting California wines all over Europe, since 2019 together with Marco, Paul co-founded EBURON winery in 2023. While Paul is more involved in the business side of the winery, you’ll find him pruning vines and harvesting grapes in the vineyard and assisting Marco in the winery, usually with a glass of wine in his hands.
Stan Beurskens
We are proud to have Stan Beurskens, owner and award-winning winemaker of Wine domain St. Martinus, as our consultant. We are honored that Stan agreed to take us by the hand in our journey to produce the best wine from our vineyards.
Alba
What would a winery be without its own resident dog. Alba, actually short for Albarino, has become best friends with our sheep.
